TRAVEL HEALTH
Coronavirus
Covid has been controlled in Vietnam, and the government has opened up for trade with other countries. There are no COVID testing requirements for entry or exit.
Vaccinations
365Aplus Travel does not give specific health advice, but we do recommend you see your doctor at least six weeks prior to travel for advice and to allow time for any necessary vaccinations. Please remember to take your itinerary with you.
Water
We strongly recommend you do not drink the tap water. There will usually be a kettle or flasks of boiled water in your hotel room and on-board trains, cruises.
Boiled water is suitable for drinking and cleaning teeth. Safe, bottled drinking water is readily available for sale everywhere – from small shops, supermarkets, restaurants, and hotels. It is not customary for hotels to provide complimentary bottled drinking water. Always ensure that the seal is unbroken.
Your local guide will outline the basic precautions, but even the most careful travellers can still pick up bugs. Personal hygiene and sensible eating and drinking are the best precautions, but you may wish to take rehydration salts to aid your recovery should you become unwell.
Your own first aid or medical kit
We recommend you carry a small first aid kit for your personal use.
For some items you may need to consult your doctor for a prescription. The following list is intended as a guide only:
Plasters
Sterile dressings and bandages
Simple pain killers e.g. paracetamol or ibuprofen
Antiseptic cream
Antihistamine cream (for insect bites)
Sunburn cream
Anti-diarrhoea pills e.g. Imodium
Rehydration salts e.g. Dioralyte
Please ensure you carry any essential personal medication in your hand luggage rather than checked in bags.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
Travel insurance is recommended for all visitors to Vietnam. Travelers may consider a policy that includes travel-related coverages such as emergency medical treatment, delays, and lost or damaged baggage. To find the right coverage for your next trip and budget, it's recommended to compare different travel insurance plans and narrow it down by the criteria that suits your personal situation
Let’s find out the nearby travel insurance agency where you are living or the most convenient way is to purchase insurance online. See our Travel Insurer section for more details.
What insurance is required?
Travel medical insurance is mandatory. With a wide variety of company, credit card and travel policies out there, how do you know if your coverage is sufficient for our style of adventure travel? Our minimum insurance policy coverage for medical emergency evacuation and repatriation is USD$200,000 (or equivalent in other currency). If your pre-existing coverage does not meet these needs, you will be required to purchase travel medical insurance.
Why should I get cancellation insurance?
Adding cancellation insurance to your medical insurance is optional, but always recommended. By having ‘all-inclusive’ coverage you do not need to worry about emergencies that can happen any time, any where, before or during your travels. Including the cost of your airfare, as well as your tour(s), ensures that you do not have to worry about any unforeseen situations such as having to rush home to a family member or having a tour changed or cancelled because of a natural disaster.
How much does it cost?
Less than you’d expect! Travel medical insurance is based on the number of days of coverage – so how long you will be away. All-inclusive insurance, which adds cancellation to your medical insurance, is based on the dollar value of the tours, airfare, hotel nights and other services being covered. Typical costs, in USD, on a 10-day tour valued at $1000 with airfare coverage at $1000 as well would be:
