Day 1: Halong Bay Port – Hanoi Capital

15h30 Arrival Hanoi, check in hotel and start touring.
Now it’s time to embark on a walking tour through Hanoi’s Old Quarter (in contrast to the French Quarter) to discover the street food scene in Hanoi where it feels like you are never further than a few metres from a street food stall. Your guide will talk you through the ingredients and the different herbs of each dish, while you are crouching on tiny plastic stools in a back alley. Sample delicious dishes like Nom Du Du (green papaya salad), Banh Mi Pa Te (a sandwich that reflects Vietnam’s culinary heritage), and the famous Hanoi dish Bun Cha (grilled pork and noodles). Finish your day walking down the city’s railway tracks and then stop for a home-brewed beer, the renowned Bia Hoi.

Day 2: Hanoi City tour - Halong Bay Port

Today you will have a day tour to visit Hanoi’s featured sights including: Ho Chi Minh complex that includes: the mausoleum of the historic figure and father of modern Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh (viewed from outside) and the former presidents house on stilts where he lived from 1958 to 1969, his former home illustrates the modesty of this Vietnamese revolutionary & The One Pillar Pagoda with be visited next. This structure is one of Vietnam’s most iconic temples.
Continue to picturesque West Lake and the sixth century Tran Quoc Buddhist Pagoda. Following is a visit to Temple of Literature - Vietnam's first university – A Confucius site, also referred to as Van Mieu, and was established within a temple to educate Vietnam's royalty, mandarins and members of the elite. The university functioned for an incredible 700 years and its gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a fascinating glimpse into Vietnam’s past.
Lunch will be had in KOTO Van Mieu, nestled next to the Temple of Literature. For over 20 years, we proudly served guests from all around the world and important dignitaries from Bill Clinton and Prime Minister Julia Guillard to Margrethe II of Denmark.
In the afternoon, the tour continues with a visit to one of the following museums, you can pick the one you like (Army Museum, Hanoi Hilton prison or Vietnam Women Museum).
Enjoy an hour siting on a trishaw going through Old Quarter. This bustling area of narrow streets and alleys is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. It's a great place to explore with plenty of photo opportunities all around you.
15h30 Return to cruise, it takes 3.5 driving hours to get back the cruise ship.
