Tour type: Cultural Tour
Wheelchair availability: No
3 days in Yangon only: Shwedagon Pagoda at sunset, the old colonial downtown, the circular train with local people, Kandawgyi Lake. Short and simple. Please read the travel advice first.
Please read first. Many governments, including the US, advise against travel to Myanmar because of armed conflict. Some travel insurance will not cover you while that advice is in place. Before you book, check your own government's advice and ask your insurer. We only run trips on the main tourist route, we fly between cities instead of driving, and we check the situation again before we confirm. If it is not OK, we tell you and we do not run the trip.
Yangon is the easiest part of Myanmar to visit right now. This is a short trip, no flights inside the country.
Day 1: Arrive in Yangon. Late afternoon at Shwedagon Pagoda. You go barefoot. Stay for the sunset, the gold turns orange.
Day 2: Downtown on foot: Sule Pagoda, old British buildings, street food. Afternoon on the circular train. It is slow and hot, and you sit with local people going about their day.
Day 3: Kandawgyi Lake, a local market, transfer to the airport.
